Puducherry Administration has rolled out a scheme to extend cash awards to students belonging to fishermen community who have scored high and excellent marks in the school final public examinations. An official communication said today that each of the students of fishermen community who have scored 75 per cent and above in the SSLC, Matriculation, French Brevet Elementaire (equivalent to Class X) and also under the CBSE pattern of education would be provided Rs 5000. Similarly, students who have scored 75 percent and above in the Plus Two (Class XII) and also in the CBSE pattern of Higher Secondary education would be provided an award of Rs 7000, the communication said.
