Default Help (shutting down of computer)

I seek help in a silly matter,

    earlier i had win98,
in it when ever i shut down my PC, it was off,

    but now after installing XP,
after shutting down, i get a message:
"It is now safe to turn off your computer"
is there any way to prevent it??

This problem occurs when ur BIOS is not ACPI compatible

Right click My Computer then click Properties > Hardware > Device Manager.
    Expand the entry called Computer.
If the entry is 'Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) PC' you're all set. If it says 'Standard PC' the computer BIOS was not detected as being ACPI capable

    If thats true then
Go to Control Panel -> Power Options -> APM / Advanced Power Management -> Turn on the 'Enable Advanced Power Management' Option.

also it may be due to these softwares
    Logitech mouse drivers
    Adaptec/Roxio software
    Zone Alarm
So temporarily uninstall them and check
