    Default "Memberlist" question

How can I keep others, particularly non-registered viewers, from having access to and viewing my forum's memberlist?

    Its difficult on free forums
the only way is to delete memberlist.php file
and u cannot do that here

other way is to hide it
    and that too require mod
    try changing a template

The memberlist has been disabled to reduce spamming, by the looks. BUT, this opens a big problem for the administrator because we now cannot see the full list of members, but more importantly, their usernames. This will make editing their permissions/profiles very difficult because we can't keep track of their names using the board's admin functions.

While I agree that public access to the memberlist should be cutoff, adminstrators should still have access to it. Perhaps a link to it could be listed only on the admin panel, for use only by a logged-on administrator?

Default Viewing Members without the Memberlist

    Hi,
Hushpower, I totally agree with it now being difficult to administrate the
forums without being able to view the members through the ease of use of the memberlist. But I found a way around that..I hope this helps...

What I do to view all members, is I go to my administration panel and

click on Management, under USER ADMIN. Then I click on find user

name. When that screen pops up, I type in the Asterisk = *

and it returns the search with all the names of registered users. :)

    Hope that helps

    Bye

I want my member list back up again. I wouldn't mind if outsiders couldn't see it but I do want to have access to it as the site Admin. This should actually be an option available to the webmaster/site admin of a forum site. So, how do get my memberlist back up and running again. I am really not very happy about my having no control over this.

We have just made the memberlist back online. You have to login to forum to view it (No access for un-registered spamers).
