HELP!!!
HI,
I have been newly bitten by the gaming bug and I like to play games like FIFA, NFS, Hitman, Max Payne, etc..However my system does not support a lot of new games. I want to upgrade my system. I want to make it a full on Gaming PC. So can anyone tell me the configuration I should go for? I currently have a P4, 845 motherboard, 2.6GHZ, 128MB Ram system. Can anyone tell me a configuration which will allow me to play all the new games without making my PC really slow? As you can see I am not quite a tech savvy guy. So any help would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Zephyr...

This all depends how would you like to play the games.
Just want them to run or hardcore gaming?
Geforce 5700 Fx and 512MB RAM will run all the games out yet but if you want hardcore gaming and want them to run at max at 1600x1200 with reasonable framerates then go for 2GB RAM, your board does'nt support DDRII so buy DDR3200 400MHz and go far a Geforce 6800 GT/Ultra. Don't even think of purchasing above then this one.
Why i am saying this? Most of you will say that just because i have Geforce 6800 GT.
No the reason is not the same. If you buy a 7900GTX for $500+ then you are just wasting the money, because this card supports DirectX 9.0c and the windows VISTA retail will ship with DirectX 10 and NVIDIA & ATi have promised that DX10 card will be available at the end of 2006, so i better suggest you to wait for them to come.Geforce 6800GT/ULTRA will run all games at max with full antialiasing with high framerates.

hmmmm amd
personally i use an AMD sempron 2400+ (older but surprisingly still runs latest games very strongly) with a gigabyte.... kvm-700 i think it is mother board (2004 RZ)
only 512 mb ram (DDR) and a 256 mb Radeon from a seperate company.
All in all i can still play nfs most wanted at perfect frame rate graphics very close to top.
so far the only game to get close to unplayable is morrowind oblivion and seeing the list of games you want. my brother plays the same ones and does fine on this system, should cost around... 450 (aus dollars not sure what your currency would be)
Hope i was in some way helpful

the most important thing is how u would pay ?!!!
second i think u should change ur graphic card to a 128 at least and 256 is better.
maximise ur ram to 512 at least . then u can play some more games and it was cheap .
if u want to spend more money change ur system compeletly and use pci-x graphic slot and LGA intel cpu and DDR-II RAM.
