Those joining the Indian Naval Academy will do a four-year B.Tech. course. Those who have passed Class 12 in any subject combination is eligible for the Army wing. For the Air Force and the naval wings and the Indian Naval Academy, the candidate should have passed Plus Two with Physics and Mathematics. The Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, has invited applications for entrance tests to be conducted on May 19 at various centres, including Thiruvananthapuram, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata, for admission to postgraduate diploma courses in direction, cinematography, sound recording and sound design, editing, acting, art direction and production design and postgraduate certificate courses in feature film scriptwriting, direction, electronic cinematography, video editing, sound recording and TV engineering. Twelve seats are available for each programme. Graduates in any discipline can apply. However, those who desire to apply for the sound recording and sound design or the sound recording and TV engineering courses should have studied Physics as a subject at the Plus Two level. Graduates in Architecture and Fine Arts may apply for the postgraduate diploma course in Art Direction and Production Design. Those appearing for the qualifying examination in 2013 may also apply. The application fee is Rs. 2,150 (Rs. 650 for those belonging to the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes and the financially backward). Indian Maritime University, Chennai, will publish its admission notification during February and March. The academic programmes include the B.Sc. course in Nautical Science and Maritime Science; the B.Tech. course in Marine Engineering and Naval Architecture; the B.Sc. course in Shipbuilding and Repair; the postgraduate diploma course in Marine Engineering; the M.Tech. course in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering and Dredging and Harbour Engineering; the MBA course in Port and Shipping Management and International Transportation and Logistics Management; and the LL.M. course in Maritime Law.
