    Default ubuntu

ubuntu is easiest desktop linux i ever seen. i u have an external modem the ubuntu will automatically detect. also some of the pci modem are detected automatically. u can check it go to system>administration>networking
in that select modem, enable this connection, then go to modem properties, then click autodetect. if ur modem is autodetected u can see the modem port,. use that port name in pppconfig, for dialing type:- wvdial
most of the windows will work on ubuntu if u install a program called wine.
all the best, share the spirit of ubuntu, respect the humanity that they have shown to us

Man ubuntu is pretty much easy to install.
Its jsut like installing Windows actually.
Just follow the installation wizard, READ every instructions and
    voila! You're done!

My first ubuntu installation is when I don't even know how to use linux yet hehe!
