A private complaint was filed against actors Anushka Shetty and Priyamani at the Malkajgiri Court on Monday. In his complaint advocate L. Subuddi alleged that both the actors have been exposing themselves. He said that while Anushka in her forthcoming film is said to be wearing an attire made of leaves, Priyamani is wearing an objectionable dress in the movie Chandi. Both the films are yet to be released,” he said, adding that “the posters and advertisements of their movies are publicly exhibited indecently representing women.”
Pointing out that there were several instances of indecent representation of women in advertisements, films and the Web, he said that he would like to accuse the two heroines of violating several laws and requested the court to take cognisance of the case under Sections 120-B, 292, 420 of IPC, and section 3 & 6 of the indecent representation of women (Prohibition) Act, 1986, the AP Prohibition of Obscene Advertisements Act.
1997, Sec 67 of Information Technology Act 2000, Section 7 of The Cinematograph Act, 1952, and Rule 38 of the Cinematograph (Certification) Rules, 1983.
