Indian Institute of Information Technology Rajasthan will be set up on PPP model in Kota and a central team will visit the area soon to inspect the site for the proposed institution. The IIITR is proposed to be set up on PPP model and 50 per cent of the amount would be contributed by the Centre, 35 per cent by Rajasthan government and 15 per cent by private companies in partnership, Ijayraj Singh, MP from Kota said in a press note released here.

He said CAIRN India Limited has ensured partnership for setting up the institute with the other three companies -- Birla Group (NEC), Vakrangee Software and Genpact India. A central team is likely to visit Kota around the end of this month to inspect the site, he said. The team would also seek possibilities for temporary building of the Institute.

The formalities about IIITR in Kota by Rajasthan government has been completed, he said, adding, admissions to the institute would open soon. The pace of the ambitious project of setting up IIITR in Kota had slowed down for last two years after denial by a firm for partnership in setting up the institute, he said. One hundred acres of land for IIITR has already been allotted in Ranpur area of Kota, he said.
