Rumours are rife that popular actress Kajal Agarwal, whose stock is high in the Tamil and Telugu film industry, was approached by none other than Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan for his multilingual untitled project, and turned down the offer despite wanting to take it up very much. Apparently, it was said that Kajal had prior commitments in Tamil and Telugu and could not go on board for the mega-budget flick, which is being produced by Lingusamy under his home banner Thirrupati Brothers. A close source says that the Thuppakki actress personally apologised to the Dasavatharam star about her inability to accept. After all, any young heroine would give an arm or leg to share screen space with a superstar like Kamal Haasan. Lingusamy, who is collaborating with Kamal for the first time, was away in Hyderabad for a discussion on the story. A close aide of the filmmaker said that since the film was being scripted, directed and acted in by Kamal, it was he who would call the shots on everything — from the casting to technical support.
The movie will go on the floors in October once Kamal completes Aascar Film Productions’ Vishwaroopam 2.
