Actress Rima Kallingal is playing the lead in Escape from Uganda, which has been shot completely in the African country. The film has been directed by Rajesh Nair.

The cast includes Mukesh, Parthiban, Vijay Babu and Tashu Kaushik. The story is about a girl who has been put behind the bars for a crime that she has not committed. This is reportedly based on a true incident and will have Rima doing some action sequences as well.

Rajesh Nair has earlier directed the film, Annum Innum Ennum. A few actors from Uganda also include the film's cast.
