Punyalan Agarbattis is the debut venture of Jayasurya as a producer. The movie cast Jayasurya and Nyla Usha in the lead. The director has tweeted saying that the team has landed in Australia to complete some scenes. Punyalan Agarbattis tells the story of a Thrissur based man named Joy Thakkolkaran.

He aspire to become an established businessman. On his research, he finds the business possibilities of agarbattis. He also found that elephant dung can be effectively used as a raw material for making agarbattis. Likewise, he decided to start his business on making agarbattis from the dung. For that he made a contract with the Devaswom Board for getting the dung.

Everything was going perfect with Joy until a new Chairman joined the Devaswom who suspended his contract with them. Things get worse for Joy without the dung and desparate Joy runs hither and fither insearch of the required raw material. This forms the plot of the film Punyalan Agarbattis. Punyalan Agarbattis is the second movie of Nyla Usha.

An RJ by profession, the actress gave a good start by giving an awesome performance in her debut movie Kunjananthante Kada. She played opposite Mammootty in that movie and played the role of his wife, who is a family woman. Now Punyalan Agarbattis will see her as a modern wife. Director Ranjith Sankar has also tweeted saying that the movie will be getting released on November 29. Central Pictures will be releasing the movie in Kerala.
