The Prospectus for admission to the Professional Degree Courses, Kerala for 2014, will be released today by 5 pm at Trivandrum. The major change in this year’s admissions would be the inclusion of MBBS/BDS Courses also under the Medical Entrance Examination. In 2013, the admissions to MBBS/BDS courses were based on the merit in the Kerala rank in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) conducted by the CBSE.
NEET has subsequently been quashed by the Supreme Court and as such the state decided to make admissions to the MBBS/BDS Courses 2014, through the Medical Entrance Examination of the State.
The Engineering Entrance Examination (For admission to engineering courses except Architecture) will be held from 10 am to 12.30 noon (IST) on 21st and 22nd April, 2014. Paper-I (Physics & Chemistry) will be held on 21st April (Monday) and Paper-II (Mathematics), on 22nd April (Tuesday).
Paper-I, Chemistry & Physics of the Medical Entrance Examination will be held from 10 am to 12.30 noon (IST) on 23.04.2014 (Wednesday) and Paper-II: Biology will be held from 10 am to 12.30 pm on 24.04.2014 (Thursday).
There will not be any entrance or aptitude test for Architecture, to be conducted by the CEE. Those desirous of B.Arch admissions would have to qualify in National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture.
More examination centres are expected to be announced outside the state, within India, this year. As of now, there are only two centres outside the State, one in New Delhi and other at Dubai, UAE.
