    Parunthu para (eagle rock/Grampi) view point is located 6 km from Kallar junction bus stop (on NH 220) near Peermedu. The road to Parunthupara is through tea, coffee and cardamon plantation. The place has got panoramic view of surrounding high peaks, rocky plains and forest. Vandiperiyar is 10 km away.







    Sabarimala Makaravilakku can be viewed from here. The Sathram, traditional Sabarimala pilgrim trek route road head, is accessible from here. The Sathram - Sabarimala forested trek route via Pullumedu is accessible only during the Pilgrim season (Dec - Jan).

    How to Reach

    Kottayam to Mundakayam via Kanjirappally is 55 km and the travel takes 1.5 hour. From Mundakayam the Ghat road leads to Kuttikanam, 21 km away. The travel from Parunthupara to Kottayam (100 km) takes 2 hour.

    NH 220 : Kollam - Kundara - Bharanikavu - Charummoodu - Chengannur - Changanassery - Kottayam - Pampady - Ponkunnam - Kanjirappally - Mundakayam - Peruvanthanam - Kuttikanam - Peermedu - Vandiperiyar - Kumily - Cumbum - Theni.

    Default Panchalimedu, Kuttikanam

    Panchalimedu is a virgin hill station believed to be the camping site of the Pandavas. The pond, Panchalikulam, is said to be used by Panchali, the wife of the Pandavas. The well has good amount of clear water and is around 5 m in diameter. A small square pond is nearby. The nearby hill has a number of crosses and at the base there is a small tea shop.





    How to Reach

    Just 4 km from Peruvanthanam on the Kuttikanam road (NH 220) take right deviation at Murinjapuzha. Panchalimedu is 5 km away on the Kanayankavayal road. From Mundakayam, KSRTC operates Kanayankavayal bus.

    Valanjamkanam waterfalls on the Kottayam - Kumily Highway is nearby. It is a seasonal waterfall and dries in summer.
