Yea, I can't agree more. SP2 only causes me a lot of trouble back then. Some patch is ok, but SP2, I won't install it anymore.

I'm alredy installed SP2 and I have no problems with my OS.

Hint: Reinstall XP and Patch them to SP2.

My SP2's been fine - didn't detect Norton Antivirus and kept warning me i didn't have virus protection, but you can tell it that you'll monitor your Firewall / AV status and update it as you see fit in the Windows Security Centre.

All the security and stuff it introduces in IE can easily be avoided by either using a decent browser or by lowering your security settings in control panel. It seems from the posts above that alot of ppl are winging about stuff they could put right if they bothered to use their eyes and poke around in control panel for a minute or two!

    I'm using:
    Kaspersky Antivirus v5
    Agnitum Outpost Firewall v2.5
They had been succesfully detected by Windows Protect Center. Everything is working correctly.

    Default sp2

SP2 works pretty well for me. Fortunately, I read this (http://65.24.134.81/KipSolutions/SP2/SP2Overview.htm) article before I applied it to my laptop. When you realise how it does not allow certain malicious codes to run in the memory and myriad other improvements, you tend to like it. Unfortunately, for some people, their software conflicts with SP2. One should also read the 'Before you install SP2' page on microsoft. I am running XP SP2 with ZA Pro, Norton 2004, Ad-Aware SE Personal, Spybot S&D and Spysweeper and not one conflict with SP2! Maybe I am lucky ;-)
    Cheers!

I don't use XP. But I hear it really is a piece of sh*t.
I use Windows 2003, no firewall and any browser otherthan Intenet Explorer

    The best way is:
    format c:
    install XP
    SP1
    SP2
    and thats all!
    after that install other programms.
And all will work without problems.
