Coz:

Its cheap nd more powerful than a laptop of same configuration.

The maintainance is low nd affordable.

In case of a short-circuit u can easily replace the damaged part for a dektop but if u have a laptop u got to buy a new one even if its under warranty as the company does not take any responsibility of power disruptencies nd mishandling (personal experience in 2006, due to short circuit in college my laptop got wasted, nd i got a slap of 55000 bugs everywhere on my face, the people who were using desktops in hostel or in college labs only got RAM nd UPS and Lithium battery changed).

I'd have to go with desktop, but not just for the reasons you mentioned. Also desktops tend to have larger harddrives, which really comes in handy as deleting junk off your computer all the time gets real annoying.

I voted for desktop because it's better for fun stuff like games. I also use Photoshop which runs very slowly on my laptop.

The only thing is, I would miss my laptop. It is so nice to use a computer anywhere in the house.
