How to recover the stolen or lost mobile phone

All the mobiles have a 16 digit IMEI (International Mobile Identity) number written by the equipment manufacturer. "*#06#" displays the IMEI number of a mobile. So please note the number of your mobile for using in an emergency.

Eg: 352648742611579612 (IMEI Number)

In case of mobile theft, with an application with identity proof and the IMEI number from the user, the service provider can block the use of a stolen mobile.

Mobiles are helping police to trace criminals and able to find clear evidence before the court of law. Using mobile locator software, experts can see the location of a mobile (user) in map.

Useful Tips

1. Note down IMEI number in a separate safe place.

2. IMEI number will be displayed on the cartoon of your mobile and inside the phone near battery position.

3. Most importantly, keep your mobile in safe custody. As it is difficult to get a stole mobile phone back !.

Another interesting thing to know is all your SMS, MMS and voice communication will be recorded by the service provider and kept for 6 months in their server!. Don't be tensed, it is confidential. It can be recovered if it involves a criminal offense with the request by DGP.
