    I download files using Flashget.

Don't use file sharing programs now. I used Kazza Lite some time back, after they close down, i could not find a program that work like Kazza Lite. Most have some type of Ads.

No no no. KazzA Lite, iMesh, eDonkey or other share programs are very unsure, spreading viruses and it's hard to download. But torrents programmes is seperated for the people, who gives a fast internet, i think.
So, personally i think good program for downloading is DAP (Download Accelerator Plus). I'm using it now.

Internet expolorer can't resume broken downloads. That is if you are downloading a 100 MB File and reached 99 MB and got disconnected from internet, you need to start from beginning.

Download managers like FlashGet can resume downloads, that is if you get disconnected at 99 MB, on next connect you need to download only remaining 1 MB.

FlashGet is the best - compatible for everything!

I download from both http and ftp servers as well as from P2P.Most of u r talking abt Kazaa or Kazaa Lite or any other software's.Limewire Pro is the best P2P software on the net.It won't shows any adds or is bundled with some spyware's,trojans or viruses. It is really working for me.Downloading from limewire looks like as u r downloading from ftp server.Kazaa or Kazaa lite downloads very slow and don't show enough sources except Kazaa Plus. Many times my downloads touches 70 Kbits/s.

Getright is a pretty awesome program for resumed downloads. It will even resume a download from an alternate server!

yea, i used azureus way back
i think it's a good torrent client, bad thing is it's written using java to do the transportation part which slows my old laptop down a bit
i use shareaza most of the time
also, ya might want to look into mIRC too
i use shareaza most of the time
it loads way faster than azureus and can resume partial download
didn't like the network connect feature and the bandwidth limit feature
    sometimes, it doesn't work....
    sometimes, it doesn't connect....
but i still use it , it's good if u can find a good seeder or one of those files that almost everybody has. my fastest download speed is around 300KB/sec and i mean steady, not a peak then huge drop...
fastest speed i ever get to download something off ftp server is around 1.25MB/sec
