generally user of a forum do not want to take the tiem to find there own answers themselve, and have someone tell them, it's usually faster. The same goes for Gaia Online. I was a dedicated Q&Fer (answering questions, helping other Gaian's etc) but then I got sick and tired of people posting the same question hundreds of times...

well that can't really be done, given the limitations that phpbb gives it's mods. We'd need write access to change sections of the forums to allow an auto redirect.

The easiest way I can see get the faq out and about is to have like an auto welcome PM for new members, containing important links and information...
