    Microwave Pulao Recipe

    1 Cup basmati rice
    1/2 Cup peas
    1 tsp Cumin seeds
    Salt to taste
    2 Green chilies
    2 tsp Oil
    2 Cups water

    Method

    Clean rice and soak in water for 30 minutes.

    Don’t drain this water.

    In a microwave safe bowl, cook the rice, along with peas and water, for 10 minutes.

    Stir once in between, to ensure uniform cooking.

    Keep aside.

    In a different bowl, mix oil, cumin seeds and green chilies. Microwave at 165 degree F, for 30 seconds.

    Add rice and salt. Mix well and microwave high at 165 degree F for another 30 seconds.

    Microwave Pulao is ready.

    Another Microwave Recipes - Stuffed Ladies Fingers


    200 grams ladies fingers (bhendi)
    1/4 grated fresh coconut
    2 1/2 tablespoons chopped coriander
    2 tablespoons coriander-cumin seed (dhana-jira) powder
    2 teaspoons sugar
    1 teaspoon red chilli powder
    a pinch of asafoetida
    1 tablespoon oil
    salt ot taste
    Method
    Make slits on the ladies fingers.
    Mix all the other ingredients very well and stuff into the ladies fingers.
    Arrange in a shallow glass dish and sprinkle a little oil and 1 tablespoon of
    water. Microwave on HIGH for about 4 to 5 minutes.

    Cauliflower Casserole

    1 Cauliflower
    1 Bottle Marinara Pasta Sauce
    1 cup Paneer
    2 tsp oil
    Salt and pepper to taste
    Method
    Divide the Cauliflower into medium sized florets. Boil the florets for 5 min.
    Drain excess water from the florets and saute the florets in oil for 5 min. till they are tender.
    Arrange the florets in a microwaveable dish. Add coarsely crushed Paneer and Pasta sauce on top of the florets. Add salt and pepper and microwave for 10 minutes. This is a delicious accompaniment to pilaf.

    Brinjal Masala


    4 medium sized brinjals
    2 tsp chilli powder
    1 tsp amchoor(dry mango powder)
    1 tsp coriander-cumin powder
    1 tsp garam masala powder(optional)
    salt to taste
    1 tbsp oil

    Cut brinjals lengthwise. Add all masalas and salt to it and arinate for 15 minutes.
    Take oil in a big microwave proof container and heat in icrowave for about 1 to 2 minutes.
    Remove it and add marinated brinjals and 1 cup water and heat in microwave for 15 minutes.
    Care should be taken to stir brinjals after every 5 minutes so that they are evenly cooked.
    Serve hot with rotis or plain dal/rice.

    Palada Pradhaman

    milk 4 cup
    water 2 cup
    condensed milk 1 cup
    butter 2 tbsn
    ada ¼ cup
    sugar ½ cup
    Method
    Put ada in boiling water (2-3 cups) and keep covered for 30 minutes.
    Drain completely.
    Heat butter in a pan and fry ada till ada turns pink. Keep aside.
    Add milk and water to a thick bottom pan.
    Bring to boil and add ada and reduce the heat to low medium and cook, stirring frequently, till milk is reduced by 2/3rd and ada is done, about 1-1 ½ hours.
    Add Condensed milk and keep cooking for 5-10 minutes more.
    Add sugar and mix well and remove from flame. Serve warm.
