The Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 is the world’s first full-time live view digital interchangeable lens camera. With the lens changing versatility of a DSLR, it delivers exceptional image quality and expandable creative possibilities by allowing the adoption of lenses from both the Micro Four Thirds and Four Thirds System (requires mount adapter). Unlike DSLRs, the G1 eliminates the mirror/prism optical viewfinder to achieve a smaller size and light weight for higher operational comfort. Framing is via the camera’s EVF or the excellent 3.0-inch free-angle LCD which packs a 460k dot resolution. It offers with it a 4/3-type 12.2 megapixels Live MOS sensor that boasts a wide dynamic range and low power consumption. Panasonic’s new Venus Engine HD imaging processor gives superb noise reduction and a Dust Reduction System is added to prevent dust and other particles adhering to the sensor.
