depends where the damage is if it is a leak then you can most likely repair it on your own but if the damage is more Substantial its a better idea to have a professional handle it as to prevent further damage and safely repair the problem. if ure using a ladder i would strongly advise to have someone there with you at the bottom of the ladder holding it in place and watching over you.
