I think it's crazy that you consider yourself a pro at a video game.

Has it ever occured to you that it's just a game, and it's meant to be played for fun, and not something that people would consider a profession?

Get out of your basement! The sunlight might hurt your eyes for a little while, but it will do you some good to get out of your house once in a while.

MANY people play games for a profession. It is a very risky and competative area of sport. If you win something big, the prizes are usually very high.

In Unreal Tournament 2004 for example.

A guy called fnatic.lauke plays for 20 hours a week or something. His sponsors they pay for EVERYTHING he needs. A new computer, new equipment, food, house, anything!!!!

I think he gets around about $70,000 a year just from sponsorship money.
He is currently the world Champion at 1v1, and who knows how much he gets from that tournament.

You can easily make a profession out of playing video games. Its very well paid. But, if you don't win then you have nothing to fall back on.

Some people do play it for fun, but many many more play it for the competative sport side.

I used to play Counter-strike for the superhero mod. Then, later on I realised that SH mod was biased to any new players. So I moved to CS:S. I started playing on a custom maps server, that tested numerous amounts of new maps. It was funny to see on this one map, where you can destroy the ground by shooting the glass, and you watch everyone fall to their deaths. lol
