Default Tiger Woods' wife 'walks out' on him

NEW YORK: Tiger Woods’s wife has moved out of their family home in Florida amid continuing reports of the golfer’s alleged affairs with a string of women, it has been claimed.

Neighbours and sources close to Woods said Elin Nordegren has “had enough” and moved out of the mansion in the Orlando suburb of Windermere, according to Radaronline, a celebrity news website.

Miss Nordegren, a 29-year-old former Swedish model, is reportedly living in a house nearby as her husband and his representatives work to persuade her to return home.

Little has been heard from her since the scandal over her husband’s private life broke two weeks ago except rumours – hotly denied by her husband – that she had hit him and his car with one of his golf clubs after learning of his infidelity.

Lindsay Davenport, the former tennis champion and a friend, told the US TV show Entertainment Tonight in an interview today that she had talked with Miss Nordegren in recent days.

She said: “She’s incredibly hurt by what has gone on, but she handles herself with class and she’s working it out as best she can.”

Davenport said Miss Nordegren’s priority was her two young children by Woods. “Nobody wants to go through divorce, especially when there’s young children involved,” she said.

“Everybody’s wish when you get married is to make it work out and we’ll see if they’re able to do that.”

According to reports by TMZ, another celebrity gossip website, Barbro Holmberg, Miss Nordegren’s mother and a Swedish politician, has been in Florida since Friday.

It is widely believed that Woods and his wife of five years have been renegotiating their prenuptial agreement with the golfer paying her more money early in an attempt to persuade her to stay with him.

Prosecutors revealed on Monday that a Florida Highway Patrol trooper suspected Woods had drunk alcohol on the day he drove his car into a fire hydrant and a tree outside his house on November 27.

The state attorney’s office rejected the trooper’s request for an investigative subpoena for Woods’ blood test results due to “insufficient information provided”. Police have not pressed charges over the incident.

The trooper said a witness who had pulled Woods out of the vehicle had told him that the golfer had been drinking earlier in the day.

As Miss Nordegren has said she removed her husband from the car, it is assumed it was she who told police about the alcohol.
