Default Using FTP - (if you are new to FTP)

    Using FTP

There are many FTP programs to choose from, some of the most common are CuteFTP from globalscape.com, Magellan Explorer from Magellan.com and WSFTP from ipswitch.com. If you are new to FTP I suggest either Cute or Magellan, they both have an easy user interface.

    First
All FTP programs have one thing in common. They require 3 pieces of information to log on to any server.
    1. The path which is http://username.bizhat.com
    2. Your username (you would have received this with your initial e-mail from BizHat.com)
    3. Your Password (you would have received this with your initial e-mail from BizHat.com)

    Second
Click connect and your logged onto your site. That's it.

(See below for a detailed example)

Here is an example using Cute FTP

Select the Site Manager under the File Menu

Type in a user friendly name in the field "Label for Site"
Type in your own domain name in the field for "FTP Host Address"
The Field for "FTP site User Name" will be the username you received from Bizhat.com

For example: if my username is "widget" and the domain name is "bizhat.com" then you would type in widget.bizhat.com

    Type in your password: ********

The default FTP "site connection port" is 21 "Login type" is Normal

    Click Connect

Click OK to the Login Messages Screen

Cute FTP opens up with a screen with two panels, the panel on the left represents what's on your hard disk and the panel on the right represents what's on the web server.

I like using SmartFTP, I used this the first time I learned how to FTP and I've used it ever since then. I don't have any problems using it, and I reccomend it to everyone else.

I like FileZilla. Its free, no spyware and crap, and works good. You can get it at: http://filezilla.sourceforge.net/
