    Default Javascript form

    Anyone know whether can I use javascript to submit form and send the information as email?

    Do I need ASP or PHP to store the information into mySQL database? I am new in web programming.

    THanks

    Hey.

    javascript is a very limited language.

    To automatically email you the forum, you'd need some more advanced language.

    PHP can communicate with MySQL databases pretty well.

    alternatevely, you can do this:

    Code:
    <form mothod="post" action="mailto:address">
    This will, open up the mail client of the user, and create an email when the forum is submited. The user will then have to send the email.

    What do you mean?

    Like I said, if you want the form to be automatically emailed to you, you'll have to use something like PHP.

    If you wish to automatically send an email without any involvment with a mail client, as previously stated by SCM, you will have to code this and php is the way to go. You would use the command SENDMAIL, and if you have a search through this forum you will find plenty of examples of this.

    As a footnote, Javascript does not have the ability to email a form and would not be an ideal to send information due to security.

    Cheers
