WinRAR is pretty damn impressive... it zipped up a 1.9gig to 700 megs.... I don't think anything else could do much better than that... Hmmm i might check this new one out though, ta for the link

Bzip2 also doesn't gives bad results. Millions use and author also has tested with many different files of many sizes.
