    Default Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

Arsenal were held to a goalless draw by Manchester city at the Emirates stadium. A win was crucial for City but they could not create meaningful chances in the game. Shey Given the city goal keeper was taken off the field because of a suspected broken shoulder. For Arsenal, Robin Van Persie came back from injury to lead his side. City could not take advantage of Tottenham's defeat at the hands of Manchester United earlier on saturday.

    Default This weekend's important fixtures

League leaders Chelsea play Liverpool, a match that may well decide the champion of this season while second placed Manchester United go to Sunderland. Any slip up from either of the two teams may well gift the title to the other. Portsmouth and Burnley will now be relegated to the second division next season, and we may see the other team to go down with them to the coca-cola championship. Manchester City play Tottenham at the Eastlands, to decide if one of them are to qualify for champions league next season by finishing in the top four.

Default Tottenham win, Manchester City beat Aston Villa

Yesterday, Tottenham beat Bolton 1-0 to stay at fourth spot with 67 points. In an other match Manchester City beat Aston villa 3-1 to stay at fifth with 66 points one behind Tottenham. City and Tottenham will face each other in a very important match in midweek which might well decide who will gain the last champions league qualification spot. Today it will be leaders Chelsea facing seventh placed Liverpool and 2nd placed Manchester United facing Sunderland. A very important day of season.

Default Chelsea and United win their matches ; champions to be decided next week

Chelsea beat Liverpool 2-0 at Anfield thanks to goals from Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard to keep them in first position in the points table. The first goal came from a careless back pass from Steven Gerrard to gift Drogba 26th goal of the premier league this season equaling his tally to Wayne Rooney's. In another match, Manchester united needed nothing less than a win to keep their hopes alive in title race, and a goal from Nani helped them beat Sunderland 1-0 at the stadium of light. United are still one point behind Chelsea with one game left to play for each team. If Chelsea fails to win the match against Wigan and United are able to win their match, Manchester united would be crowned champions and if Chelsea win their game no chance for United and league champions will be Chelsea this season.

    Default Arsenal beaten by Blackburn

Blackburn rovers beat Arsenal 2-1 after coming back from behind. Robin Van Persie gave the lead early in the first half to put them ahead but David Dunn could equalise before half time to bring things level. Christopher Samba then headed home the winning goal in the 66th minute after which the gunners were unable to find another goal, even with onfield presence of Andrey Arshavin (returning from injury) and striker Eduardo Silva. Arsenal are yet to secure their 3rd spot, currently 5 points ahead of 4th placed Tottenham and 6 ahead of 5th placed Manchester City. If Arsenal does not get atleast a draw in their last game, and if Tottenham are able to win both their matches in hand Arsenal will lose their 3rd spot, and will slip down to fourth. Manchester City and Tottenham will face each other on Wednesday night, a match which might decide who finishes in the fourth place.
