The Kerala box-office is booming at last. The Mammootty- Prithviraj starrer Pokkiri Raja is turning out to be a super hit and tops the chart. The film has grossed an amazing Rs 9 crore from nearly 105 releasing screens in its first two weeks, which is phenomenal by any yardstick. It is a major boost for Prithviraj who shines throughout the film as Surya. At number two is Paapi Appacha, which due to three weeks of no Malayalam releases minted money.
It has already crossed its production cost, print and publicity amount of Rs 3.85 crore, from releasing centers alone making it a super hit. In the third place is Sathyan Anthikad’s family drama Katha Thudaranu, which in two weeks time has grossed Rs 2 crore 42 lakh and can be termed as a above average grosser, which is steady at the box-office.
At number four is Jithu Joseph’s Mummy and Me, which has taken an average opening. In the fifth place is In Ghost House Inn, which due to its super opening turned out to be a super hit, but Pokkiri Raja and Pappi Appacha has now eaten into its collections and the film has been stopped in major centers.
