The famous dubbing artist Rohini came into lime light two decades ago with the ace director Maniratnam’s ‘Idhayathai Thirudadhey’ has recently dubbed for his latest directorial ‘Raavanan’.

The artist says “It was Maniratnam who identified my potential as a dubbing artist.” She has lent her voice for many actresses in his super hit films like ‘Bombay’ (Manisha Koirala), ‘Iruvar’, ‘Guru’ and ‘Raavanan’ (for Aishwarya in all the three films).

Close sources say that she even lent her voice for other director films such as for Jyothika in ‘Vettaiyadu Vilaiyadu’ and for Manisha Koirala in ‘Indian’.

Rohini, who is not much happy on receiving the compliment as ‘You have done a good job’ says “A dubbing artist’s success is to make the audience believe it as the character’s voice. They should not identify who you are.”
