Nayanthara is playing it safe by striking a fine balance when it comes to performance oriented roles Vs glamourous outings.

There is no denying that life has changed for her since last one year and she has been embroiled in too many controversies in too short span of time and the most sensational among them was her affair with noted choreographer-actor-director Prabhu Deva.

The actress who is reported to be calling it a day at the peak of her career, has not signed any new films and it looks like Boss Engira Bhaskaran in Tamil, Electra in Malayalam and Symbol in Kannada will be her last hurrah.

The latest update on the elusive actress is that she is shooting in Karaikudi for two days after which she will join her Kannada unit in Bangalore. Recently she did a photo shoot with Arya for Boss Engira Bhaskaranin which she plays a girl-next-door.

Sources close to the actress is not willing to comment on her voluntary retirement and adds that she will take up projects which excite her. Recently she said “No” to a leading Tamil director who is teaming up with a top young hero.

But at the same time, Nayan is said to be hooked by a script narrated by a director from Malayalam which will be an adaptation of a novel written by the legendary Vaikom Muhammed Basheer.
