Southern actress Meera Jasmine's fiancé, musician Mandolin U Rajesh, says it is up to the actress whether she wants to continue her work after marriage.

"She has to make that decision whether she wants to act," said Rajesh, adding that their marriage will not be delayed anymore.

His illustrious brother, Mandolin U Srinivas and he were in the city on Monday and appeared on a TV channel programme to shared their views.

Rajesh and Meera have been going steady for quite some time, but for the first time the musician has commented on their relationship at a public forum. "This has become a reality and our family has supported him on his decision," said Srinivas.

Rajesh hails from the Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh. Meera Jasmine has been the star of the Malayalam industry ever since she made her debut in 2001. After switching to Tamil, she began to act in all the south Indian languages.

In the last nine years, she has acted in more than 55 films and has been a runaway hit in films in other South Indian languages like Tamil, Telugu and Kannada as well.

Hailing from Thiruvalla in Pathanamthitta district, Kerala she won the National Film Award for best actress in 2004 and is a two-time recipient of the Kerala State Film Award as well as the prestigious Kalaimamani Award from the government of Tamil Nadu.

A few years back, the actress made headlines after she fell out with her parents, but later patched up with them.
