If you're serious, that's an almost bannable question.
Hacking is tantamount to burglary, just cos some idiot left their front door open doesn't give you the right to go along in and check out their stuff.
I spend half my life explaining to people how to secure their computers, maybe you should try that instead of wanting to break into them.

Everyone has a totally warped misconception of 'hacking'.

Hacking is modifying software to gain more from it...

Gaining access to other systems is known as cracking and is frankly foolish and stupid.

If you want to learn how to be a hacker, use Linux, learn C and contribute to Open Source projects.

If you want to learn how to be a cracker, don't, because if you approach any major cracking groups going "OMG I ken Hak I will pwnz j00" they'll probably laugh at you and/or do something bad to you.

Well, what you don't want to be is a cracker or another term Black Hat. But if you do want to hack... and not go to jail. Then search google for some stuff, start using a unix os, and or take a CEH class an become a certified ethical hack(CEH) then go on from there to try an get more certifications.
