I have several questions: Where can I find MS Gif Animator, krolis? Is it already on the hard drive?
Does anyone know of cheap or free software similar to photoshop?

i used to use macromedia fireworks for logo design. nowadays, i find it better to do logos in 3d programs like 3ds max

you will find lots of tools in Illustrator and easy to use if your familar with photoshop. CorelDraw is a nice package as well.

designing logos is easy, designing a logo that is brandable may be a bit more woek (creativity)...
