A recent interview of director P. Vasu indicated that ‘he was waiting for actor Ajith’s consent to star in the sequel toChandramukhi. Ajith reportedly watched ‘Aaptamitra’, the Kannada version of the sequel to ‘Chandramukhi’ and which starred the late Vishnuvardhan in the lead role, at the behest of superstar Rajnikanth.

When Rajni met Ajith at the celebrations at Prabhu’s house during the inauguration of the Pillaiyar Koil, he is said to have told Ajith that he should strongly ‘consider’ acting in thesequel to the superhit ‘Chandramukhi’. Rajni reportedly told Ajith to first watch the sequelstarring Vishnuvardhan and Ajith immediately agreed to Rajni’s proposal.

Ajith was then shown the film at an exclusive screening. He, however, hasn’t reportedly said anything positive to Vasu about starring in the Tamil version of the sequence. Vasu was peeved at the words that he was ‘waiting for Ajith’ and said that “I only showed the film to Ajith at Rajni Sir’s request and my job was over with that. Whether Ajith wanted to star in the sequel or not is his concern,” thunders Vasu.
