    Homemade Flying Machines Airshow

Red Bull Flugtag (German for ‘airshow’) is a fun event organized by Red Bull in which competitors attempt to fly homemade human-powered flying machines. The flying machines are usually launched off a pier about 30 feet high into the sea or lake. Most competitors enter for the entertainment value, and the flying machines rarely fly at all.

The first Red Bull Flugtag competition was held in 1991 in Vienna, Austria. It was such a success that it has been held every year since and in over 35 cities all over the world. The most recent one this year was held in Tel Aviv, Israel, on June 3. According to the organizers, some 50,000 spectators had gathered to enjoy the event.

Anyone is eligible to compete in the Flugtag event. To participate, each team must submit an application and their contraption must meet the criteria set forth by Red Bull, which are usually size of wingspan and weight of the craft. Because the aircraft will ultimately end up in the water, it must be unsinkable and constructed entirely of environmentally friendly materials.

Teams compete at the Flugtag competition under three categories - distance, creativity, and showmanship. The record for the longest flight in the history of the competition is 207 feet set on July 24, 2010 at the Flugtag in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Spectators Show Off Elaborate Hats At Royal Ascot

The Royal Ascot is one of Europe's most famous race meetings, and dates back to 1711 when it was founded by Queen Anne. Every year Royal Ascot is attended by HM Elizabeth II and various members of the British Royal Family such as The Prince of Wales, with the Royal procession taking place at the start of each race day. The annual five-day racing event has highlighted both British fashion and horseracing since its inception. Top hats and tails remain compulsory in parts of the course. The third day is known as "Ladies' Day" and is the traditional high point for fashion at Ascot.

    Annual Mud Day

About 5,000 people turned up the at the Hines Park Nankin Mills Area in Westland, Michigan, for the state's 24th annual mud day. More than 200 tons of topsoil and over 20,000 gallons of water are mixed to produce a huge pool of mud, where both kids and adults play and frolic for two hours. The event also holds various contest like “Mud Limbo” and wheel barrow races. At noon, King and Queen Mud were crowned.

Default Bramble Bank Cricket Match: The Strangest in the World

The Brambles sandbank appears only once a year - and then only for about an hour - midway between Southampton and the Isle of Wight. When it does members of The Royal Southern Yacht Club at Hamble and the Island Sailing Club on the Isle of Wight race out to it... for a cricket match.

Dozens of boats containing participants and spectators wait around Bramble Bank for the sea to subside and reveal the bank once more. As soon as it does appear the stumps are put up and the match gets under way. Many of the competitors dress all in cricket whites and 'The Bramble Inn' (pictured above) is erected to serve drinks to spectators. The Bramble Inn is probably worth a web page on its own as one of the most bizarre pubs in England: it is in the middle of the sea and exists only for about an hour each year! The event looks to any passing boats like some surreal mirage - cricketers standing on water in the middle of The Solent. And as can be seen from the pictures, to the spectators it often looks as if people are 'walking on water' as ferries and tankers sail past.

The game only lasts as long as the bank lasts (about an hour) and the the sea returns to swamp the pitch. The players retreat to their boats and head back to the Isle of Wight for a celebratory dinner. Who wins? Well, the teams seem to take it in turns - afterall winning the game or losing it just doesn't seem important. All that matters is having a good time.

Tomatina Festival, Spain is an interesting festival to attend. This festival happens every year in Bunol, on the last Wednesday in August. This festival was started in 1945. In this year I also have a plan to attend this festival with my friends.

I always thought the Tomatina was an unusual and interesting festival. The Tomatina is a Spanish festival that is held in the town of Buñol, a town located 30 km from the Mediterranean in the province of Valencia, in which participants throw tomatoes and get involved in a giant tomato fight.
