HASSAN: Anil Kumble may be a good cricketer but the same cannot be said about his administrative skills, said Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar, former MP and presidential candidate for Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), here on Saturday.

The scion of Mysore's royal family said that he will campaign in a democratic manner while refusing to comment on the former cricketer's decision to contest the KSCA elections.

Exuding confidence over his electoral prospects, Wadiyar said that differences between the office bearers at KSCA had led to the associaton becoming less inactive.

If elected, my syndicate will come up with newer strategies that will benefit the players immensely, he added while stating that voters will take administrative experience into consideration while exercising their franchise.

He said the KSCA will take steps to develop sporting turfs across the state, besides organising Ranji cricket matches there. Ranji cricket matches will soon be held at Hassan ground, he added. Veteran cricketers Shafi Ahmed and Venkatesh, umpire Ravishanker and Krishnappa were also present.
