    How to Save After Retirement

Retirement is a time for you to sit back and enjoy your life, without worrying about heading out to the office. Even though you're not working, that doesn't mean you don't need a savings plan. And without the extra income, saving extra money can be a challenge.

Skip the mortgage and rent instead. If you're trying out a new lifestyle in a new city, there's no reason to make a commitment right away. Rent for a while and decide if this is really what you want to do.

Fight the urge to shop impulsively. When you're busy with a job and family, it's easy to be distracted from spending. But now that you have all this free time on your hands, you might feel the urge to spend.

Find a part time job that you love. You'll enjoy going in to work every day, and it gives you a little bit of extra money to work with each month.

Take advantage of senior discounts. The American Association of Retired People offers wonderful savings to its members on a variety of products and services. All these savings can really add up over time.

Reconsider your life insurance. If you already have another plan, this may be an expense you can cut.

Protect yourself from fraud. Identity theft and scams can cost you a lot of money. It's worth the extra time and effort to make sure that you're protected.
