    HTML is the "mother tongue" of your browser. You always need HTML to make a website. But you may also need other languages/scripts (CSS, Javascript, PHP/ASP etc) to add style and make it interactive etc.

    HTML is the right place to start if you want to make websites.

    Yaaaaaa...HTML is very helpful in website designing. It provides a graphical user interface and have an array of tools which you develop web pages.
