Celebrity Cricket League on June 3

BANGALORE: Teams from the four film industries - Hindi, Kannada, Tamil and Telugu - are preparing to take part in the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) tournament. The CCL will be kickstarted on June 4 at Chinnaswamy Stadium in the city. Two matches will be played in the T20 format.

The first match will be played between the Telugu Tigers and The South Superstars XI. The second match will be between Karnataka Bulldozers and Mumbai Heroes.

Each team will have 14 players who will all be actors. The Karnataka Bulldozers will be captained by actor Sudeep and the Mumbai Heroes will be led by Salman Khan. The matches will be played in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Vishakhapatnam. The final match will be held in Hyderabad on June 12.

“There are so many different film industries in India but we hardly get to interact with our counterparts in other industries. This is an effort bring all the film industries from across our country like Tollywood, Kollywood, Sandalwood and Bollywood so that all the actors could interact and get to know each other,” veteran actor Ambareesh said.

All the film industries will be closed on June 4. All proceeds of the matches will go to a charity run for the deaf and dumb.” We are dedicating this team to the memory of Dr Rajkumar who wanted to be here to see all the industries interacting at this level,” Ambareesh added.

The details of the team and the tickets will be announced shortly. “We invite all the people to come and watch the matches and cheer the teams. We would love to have everybody there,” he said.
