    Default Winter Activities for Kids

Winter is the perfect time when you can “chill out” with your kids. The Winter break can be used to get your children bust with crafts, games and similar fun ideas. During the wintertime it is important that you and your kids have a lot of activities. Choose some good, fun activities to keep your child occupied during the winter break. Following are some useful winter activities for fun and entertainment of your kids.

Make a Scrapbook: Scrapbook albums are often decorated and frequently contain extensive journaling. Scrapbooking preserves personal and family history in the form of a scrapbook. The most important scrapbooking supply is the album itself, which can be permanently bound, or allow for insertion of pages. The digital scrapbooking hobby has grown in popularity in recent years. You could add a few pages for dried leaves, flowers, etc., as well as pictures of you, your children and family members or friends. You and your child can decorate the outside of a photo album or scrapbook with pictures that you’ve cut out or drawn.

Snowman without snow: You can make your snowman without snow. Draw a snowman on the construction paper and glue snowman’s eyes, nose and hat. Use some cotton balls. Pull apart the cotton balls and glue bits of fluffy cotton all over your snowman. Spread a light coat of paint across your picture and sprinkle glitter to look like snow. You can also make this snowman out of fun foam or shaving foam.

Movement activities: Movement activities or “Moving and Learning” is also known as Movement education. Movement activities can generate a lot of energy. Movement Education is an approach to teaching physical education that involves an analysis of movement. It is used as a therapy for muscle problems all over the body, and including certain types of pain. In movement education, a specialist in the field observes your movement patterns, how you sit, stand, and walk. Then the specialist will teach you specific exercises and skills that will make you more aware of habitual physical patterns that result in tension and constriction in your body.

Snowman Matching Game: Cut outs of ten or twenty snowmen and ask your kids to find out right snowman. Focus on color recognition. Cut them out and place them in an envelope on the back of the file folder for a matching game.

    Handmade greeting cards
: Have fun making greeting cards in the comfort of your home. You could design your own greeting cards using graphic software, or take a photo with your digital camera. Be creative and connect with others. The joy that the handmade greeting cards give to the recipients is just feelings that cannot be purchased.

Outdoor Winter sports: If your kids love outdoor, winter sports are best options for them. Winter sports are not just about snow skiing, there are plenty of activities one can try out. Climbing the wall, Ice Climbing, skating, Snowboarding, Snow Skiing, Horse riding etc.

Check out the Local Library: The local library could be a treasure trove where you will be able to pick out or help them pick out great movies, music, or books that they would like and enjoy.

Christmas Crafts: Winter means Christmas is near. Fill your house with holiday spirit, using their favorite Christmas crafts. Christmas craft and decoration ideas including tree ornaments, tree decor, Christmas gift ideas, making Christmas Stars etc.

Snowball Fight: A snowball fight is a physical game in which balls of snow are thrown with the intention of hitting somebody else. You can have a snowball fight without snow. Just wad up balls of tissue paper, and give kids to throw each other like in Snowball fight.

Bird watching: Most birdwatchers pursue this activity mainly for recreational or social reasons. Early mornings are typically better as the birds are more active and vocal making them easier to spot. The best place to introduce your kids to bird watching is in your own backyard. Observing birds gives us a better understanding of their habitats and behaviors. You will need at least one pair of binoculars. There are even binoculars designed specifically for bird watching for kids. Bird watching for kids will be a lot of fun.

Start planning now for a fun winter. By planning out some inside activities in advance, you can eliminate the boredom blues when a chilly day of staying inside comes along. Dress warm and have fun in this winter. Write each idea that you come up with for an activity on a card and put it in the box. For children, the winter season can be a time of boredom and loneliness. The next time this happens, ask your child to take out one of the cards and perform the activity. Try colorful cards to get your child’s attention.
