This is the strangest predicament for more than 17 thousand students in the state. 17400 have qualified for admission in the Engineering and Medical Courses in the EAMCET 2011 but have failed in the intermediate examinations. This is the fate which is shared by 17400 students as EAMCET officials have, on the basis of results provided by Intermediate board, revealed that 2 thousand 900 candidates are not eligible for Medicine and agriculture and 14 thousand 500 are not eligible for engineering though they qualified EAMCET. EAMCET chairman, Prof. D N Reddy and convenor Ramana Rao told that those who qualified EAMCET but not cleared intermediate will not be given ranks.

With this number of candidates eligible for admission will reduce and availability of seat in engineering will become much easier. Already the ratio of number of eligible candidates and the seats available in engineering stream is one is to one and now with so many candidates failed in intermediate several seats are likely to remain vacant.
