The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations has invited applications for an entrance examination to be held on September 18 (Sunday) for admission to postgraduate degree courses in Ayurveda (MD -Ay) for the year 2011-12, conducted in Government Ayurveda Colleges at Thiruvananthapuram, Tripunnithura, Kannur, and VPSV Ayurveda College, Kottackal. The specialities available for this PG course is Kayachikitsa, Salakyathantra, Rasasastra, Bhaishajyakalpana, Dravyaguna, Swasthawritha, Prasoothithantra and Streeroga, Ayurveda Sidhantha and Darsana, Panchakarma, Kaumarabrithya, Salyathantra, Manasika, Agadathandra, Kriyasareera, Roganidanam.

Applicant should be an Indian Citizen and should not be over 45 years of age as on April 30, 2011 (relaxation of five year for SC/ ST category). A recognised BAMS degree with at least 50 per cent marks for theory and practicals separately in each subject is essential.

Exemption of minimum marks is granted to those who have passed the BAMS / BAM examination before 1995 from the universities in Kerala. Applicants who had completed compulsory internship on or before April 30 are eligible to apply.

The completed application along with required fee and copies of certificates should be sent to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Housing Board Building, Santhinagar, Thiruvananthapuram – 695001 either by registered post or delivered by hand so as to reach the addressee on or before September 2.

Candidates applying against service quota seats should submit their applications with necessary documents to the Director, Directorate of Ayurveda Medical Education, Arogyabhavan, MG Road, Thiruvananthapuram through their Controlling officers.

Candidates will have the provision to download their admit card from the web site www.cee.kerala.gov.in from September 13.

The Entrance Examination will be conducted at Thiruvananthapuram on September 18. It will consist of two papers each of two-hour duration and with 150 objective type multiple-choice questions each.

OLYMPIAD EXAMINATION

Applications have been invited from meritorious students to participate in the International Olympiads 2012 in physics, chemistry, biology, astronomy and junior science. The selection will be made on the basis of national standard examination to be held on November 27. About 300 toppers in each subject will qualify for the second stage selection. Orientation-cum-selection camps in each subject will be held for third stage selection. The selected Indian teams will under go pre-department training and participate in the respective international Olympiads.

For Olympiads in Physics, Chemistry and Biology: Science students of Class XII or lower classes as on November 30, 2011. Their date of birth should be on or before July 1, 1992.

For Astronomy Olympiad: Students of Class XII or lower classes as on November 30, 2011.Their date of birth should be on or after January 1, 1993.

For Junior Science Olympiad: Students of Class X or lower classes as on November 30, 2011. Their date of birth should be on or after January 1, 1997.
