    Five Suicide Spots on Earth

    Golden Gate Bridge, USA

San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge has the breaking record of highest number of suicide cases than any where else in the world. Due to the design of the bridge, barriers were not safe in the storm or strong wind. Considering the situation, authorities have decided to install a plastic-covered stainless steel net below the bridge that has not been done yet. In addition, the height gives only 2% of people survival when jumping into the water.

    2. Aokigahara Forest, Japan

Aokigahara forest is dubbed the Suicide Forest by Japanese people because hundreds of people walk in every year t kill themselves. It started in the Feudal days when poor peasants would carry elderly or disabled people into the forest to die since they could not contribute to society. Other times samurai who failed their Lords in battle also went into the forest to commit suicide. Its said there are many ghosts in the forest and that u can get lost and die.

    3. Beachy Head, England

Beachy Head, which is a beautiful spot in the south of England, is the place for more than at least 20 suicides a year. Twice a day, Beachy Head Chaplaincy patrols are carried out the find out the potential jumpers.

    4. Humber Bridge, England

The Humber Bridge is the fifth largest suspension bridge in the world but has a much more somber reputation as well. More than 200 people have jumped or fallen from the bridge since 1981 when it opened, including a woman and her son, who had Fragile X syndrome, in 2006. In late 2009, officials decided to construct a suicide barrier on the bridge's walkways.

    5. The Gap, Australia

The Gap is one of the world's top suicide spots, with about 50 jumpers a year plunging to their deaths from these beautiful but deadly cliffs. It has been lucky to have "the Guardian of the Gap", 85-year-old Don Ritchie whom we have written about before. Ritchie lives across the road from The Gap and has officially saved more than 160 potential jumpers, and 400 unofficially, by talking to them and bringing them into his home. He was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for his suicide prevention work.
