A High level Academic Delegation from Australia is visiting Mahatma Gandhi University on Monday, 28 November 2011. The purpose of the visit is to explore the possibilities of Academic Collaboration with Mahatma Gandhi University. The Delegates will meet with the Vice Chancellor at the Vice-Chancellor’s Chamber at 10.00 am followed by a meeting with the University Authorities at the syndicate hall.

Subsequently, there shall be a Colloquium on the theme “Higher Education in Australia: Opportunities for Academic Exchange”, at 11.15 am on Monday, 28 November 2011 at the School of International Relations and Politics. The Colloquium is being organized by the University Centre for International Co-operation (UCIC) on the occasion of the visit of the Australian Academic Delegation to Mahatma Gandhi University with a view to explore the possibilities of academic collaboration between Mahatma Gandhi University and Curtin University, Australia.

The Delegation is lead by Professor Moses Tadé, Dean of Engineering and Professor Brett Kirk, Associate Deputy Vice Chancellor, Research from Curtin University. The Members of Delegation will include, Syed M. Islam, Chair Professor in Electrical Power Engineering and Head of Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Dean International for the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Vishnu Pareek, Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering, Shivali Mehendale, Curtin University Representative in India.

The focus of current visit is to establish strategic co-operation, and promote joint venture opportunities between Australian Universities and Mahatma Gandhi University. The visit shall also explore research linkages, study tours, joint programs and academic mobility between Curtin University, Australia and Mahatma Gandhi University. The visit is being coordinated by the University Centre for International Co-operation (UCIC) and the Australian Trade Commission (AUSTRADE), India.
