    Default Disableing Flash advertisments

    http://flashblock.mozdev.org/installation.html

Flashblock is an extension for the Mozilla and Firefox browsers that takes a pessimistic approach to dealing with Macromedia Flash content on a webpage and blocks ALL Flash content from loading. It then leaves placeholders on the webpage that allow you to click to download and then view the Flash content.

Flashblock currently blocks the following content types:

    Macromedia Flash
    Macromedia Shockwave
    Macromedia Authorware

I hate Flash intros - is there any way to stop Internet Explorer from running them? -- Colin Davies ( Posted at discuss.fogcreek.com )
Frankly, my computer is pretty slow, and all the ads that appear on various web pages just serve to slow my computer down further. I tried uninstalling the active X part so it wouldn't work in web pages and did, but now if i go on a page with flash it asks me if i want to install it. No I don't, and i cant get rid of that prompt. I have windows 98. is there a way to stop flash ads on web pages that doesn't involve internet explorer asking me if i want to install it every second page? -- gus ( Posted at webforums.macromedia.com )

Flash and Pics Control is an Internet Explorer add-on that allows you to easily enable or disable:

    Flash Animation
    Pictures
    Cookies
    ActiveX
    Java Script
    Java Applets

The program adds a new button to the Internet Explorer toolbar. The button makes it much easier to control what content the browser is allowed to download.

Having Flash and pictures disabled lets you reduce the amount of incoming traffic. Disabling Flash animation (advertising, mostly) will also considerably reduce a web page loading time.

You might also want to disable ActiveX, Cookies, Java Script and Java Applets when visiting web sites you don't trust, since that will make Internet Explorer much less vulnerable.

Thanks for the site and download link. But please don't use it. It would reduce revenue for publishers like me who use google ads.

Well as far as I know google dosn't have any flash ads, but yeah, I don't encourage ppl to use it, except when you have poor conection and cant wait 30 minutes just becuse some advertisment is loading.

And one more thing, ppl that use that kind of program wouldn't probeobly even klick on your ad in the first place, so your flash ad would just be stealing their brandwith.
