Amidst flashbulbs and TV cameras, he announced his entry into serious paddy cultivation, at his vast plot at Kottayam. With his dark shades intact, the hero found time to make some rounds on a tractor and for the workers toiling at his plot; it was a rare opportunity to meet their celebrity boss.

Mamootty said that he has tried farming in Tamil Nadu earlier and also that he has grown up in a household where agriculture was part of life.
