Why Do Some Products Work and Some Do Not ?
This is a lesson from our course on internet success. To view entire course go to http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/grou...eeklynewletter
Before we go any further, I want to add a quote from Glenn Cassidy at Gorilla Marketing.
"Any web site that is at rest tends to stay at rest and any web site in motion tends to stay in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by another force".
Glen teaches that we must be aggressive at all time continualing looking for new ad methods, ideas and products.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe! It is difficult to find products that sell. One of the major grocery
stores tries 100 new products to find 20 products that will sell like hotcakes. This is probably true to web marketing-at least for the new beginner.
But here is a list of some of the criteria's that some say are paramount.
1) Can the product be produced by you? Not only is the mark up higher, but also
if you are successful, you can make into an affiliate program and have several thousand selling for you. You could make 50%-90% profit if you are the prime source.
2) Is the product selling something, which you are interested in? Someone
interest in health can sell will be more likely to sell wellbeing than any
other product.
3) Can the product be sent or shipped quickly? E-mail delivery is a plus.
4) Is the mark up and profit large enough for you to make a large profit? Some
affiliate programs require you to wait till you make $100 and then gives 10%
commission.
Another will pay you at $20 and then give you 50%. If you find a program that
gives low wages, you will probably find another one eventually if you look. Sometimes, it takes awhile but will be worthwhile.
5) Not all products are plans and the typical opportunities. A school teacher
searches church and garage sales. She purchases only children books and toys.
She sells them on the auction sites. She once purchased some 1950 children story books for $3 total. They sold in auction for $12000. There may be an area that you can make money at auctions.
6) We have had good luck at these addresses.

Choosing The Right Affiliate Company
by Jan Sharman
: http://www.profits4sure.com
"You need money to make money"! Thank goodness this is a myth that the internet
has almost destroyed. There are several ways to make money on the internet that
cost you huge set up and management costs, but there are still programs out there
that cost nothing to join and train you for free.
Affiliate Marketing is still a legitimate way to make lots of money online.
More money than you could earn from most jobs. The beauty of affiliate marketing is that you are your own boss and can choose your own dress code and still work at home while you are raising your family.
The concept behind affiliate marketing is simple. You earn commision when you
sell one of the affiliate company's products or when an affiliate you have
sponsored
makes a sale.
As an affiliate, you do not have to worry about start up business costs. The
Merchants package and ships the products you sell. There are no accounting
costs as all the set up and managing is done by the Merchant.
Your business is to sell or create as many ways as possible to market the
products provided by the affiliate company and teach others would be affiliates
to copy your success.
It pays to choose your affiliate company carefully! 1. It should be a company
with products you would be proud to be associated with and would have
confidence selling. It makes good sense to buy and use the products you plan to market and try them out at home before you begin to market them yourself. That way you will have first hand knowledge of the products and be able to recommend them enthusiasm. The products should give value for money so your customers will be happy come back for repeat orders.
2. A company with good Customer and Affiliate support. Be sure the company you
choose is willing to listens to its customers and affiliates suggestions and
complaints and be willing to incorporate the knowledge gained into its policy to keep both customers and affiliates happy. Happy customers mean repeat orders which
benefits everyone. The company should be a growing company that supports its affiliates and provides excellent training, resources and promotion aids to help the affiliates who market their products.
3. A company with a good Compensation Plan Look for a company that pays a good
commission percentage on their retail and wholesale sales and allows you to
earn good residual income within a team framework. Make sure the company has a good payment record and you are not left for weeks waiting for your check to arrive.
4. A Reputable Company The company you choose should be legitimate, not a get
rich quick scheme. Check to see how long the company that has been trading.
Does it have a good network of proud affiliates? Check its history with
http://groups.google.com . Then do a rip-off report at
http://www.Ripoffreport.com.
If the affiliate company meets all the above criterion the chances are, you
will be proud and happy to market their products and be on your way to earning
a fantastic income on the internet.
Strong Future International (SFI ), launched in 1998, now has over affiliates
in over 200 countries, and is believed to be the largest affiliate network in
the world. It is a fantastic company that fulfills all the conditions above. You can join SFI with confidence, knowing that you have chosen the best FREE to join and train
affiliate company on the internet today.

The Power of Planning An Article By Kelley Robertson
I am surprised how few sales professionals, independent consultants, and small
business owners take the time to plan the strategy for their business. Most
people spend more time writing out a grocery list or planning a vacation than they do
planning the direction or outcome of their business. Many will determine a vague or general idea of what they want to accomplish but very few actually identify the specific action steps they will need to take in order to achieve their goals. I'm not suggesting you create a 25-30 page business plan like a good friend of mine writes every year, but I do recommend that you begin outlining the goals you want to accomplish and how you plan to get there.
It is one thing to set a target for yourself, it is quite another to actually
plan how you will achieve it. When I establish my annual goals (which get more
challenging every year), I ask myself, "How will I accomplish these goals?" This
forces me to plan the tactics, strategies, and actions I need to undertake in order to
achieve my targets. For example, if your business relies primarily on referrals, identify what you can do to increase the number of referrals you receive.
In her book, Get Clients Now!, author C. J. Hayden suggests using a monthly
tracking sheet. This means setting specific monthly goals, planning what action
you will take to generate new business, and tracking your progress. She suggests that you engage in a minimum of ten different marketing activities each week. This can include; networking, prospecting, cold calling, sending mailers, speaking, etc. A
speaker I know spends most of his Monday planning and strategizing his week, determining exactly what activities he will execute in the upcoming few days.
How should you plan your business? It all depends on what you want to
accomplish and what is important to you. I know I could probably increase my revenue significantly in thenext 12 months, but it would require spending less time
with my family. Only you can determine what is important. And this will change
depending on what stage of life you are in. What is important to you now may
be completely irrelevant six months from now.
Here are five key areas to plan. Revenue. If you are like most businesses, you
likely have more than one product or service. Therefore, breaking down your
sales into specific categories makes sense. This allows you to track your progress in each area and see where you can improve year over year. Plus, I can also determine
the products or services I should stop selling because they don't generate
very good sales.
Profit. Obviously, determining your gross sales is important. More importantly,
though, is the amount of money you have left over at the end of the day. In
other words, what profit are you going to generate? A professional speaker I know plans his business by deciding what profit he wants to earn by each year.
He then creates his plan backwards to determine how he will achieve this.
Remember, you can incredible sales but still go out of business.
Expenses. Controlling expenses is a critical aspect of running a profitable and
successful business regardless of the size. All large organizations budget expenses but most independent business owners "wing it" and pay the bills as they come in. If you want to increase your revenues, you need to know how much it will cost you to generate your targeted sales. I remember talking to another trainer a few years ago who had learned this lesson. She began analyzing all of her expenses and found several areas she could trim. This freed up cash which she used to market her business. The result was more revenue with no additional out-of-pocket expense.
Vacation or Personal Time. How much free time do you want for yourself in the
next year? I have learned that it is very easy to get sucked into the vortex of running a business and forget to take a vacation or personal time to recharge my batteries. Block those days in your calendar early in the year. This signifies a commitment and allows you to plan your business around these personal days. A friend of mine spends most of his summer scuba diving so he plans the rest of year accordingly. He works extremely hard but this frees up almost 3 months for him to partake in his favorite past-time.
Personal Development. I have found that the people who invest in themselves
consistently outperform those who don't. Identify the skills that will help you become more successful. Determine what books, programs, courses, or people can help you learn these skills and take action.
Planning does take time. However, it is time well invested. Make the time in
your hectic life to create a plan for next year's business. Review it regularly and make the necessary changes as you progress forward. You'll be glad you did.

Here is a quote for Matthew Graves 0f
"You know ... success online isn't as difficult as you might think.
What does it take? Consistent application of three things:
1. Hard Work (Lots of Action)
2. Learning (Learn More Everyday, and Apply It)
3. Determination (Keep Focused on the Goal)
That is the success formula with any online or offline business. You just have
to apply it consistently and you will experience the rewards.
The Internet is an amazing tool at our disposal. The learning potential is
amazing with instant access to a wealth of information on any topic you can imagine. In addition, it gives us the ability to have a business without the costly overhead and financial risk of a physical location or employees. The Internet also gives us flexability in the location to work from and the time of the day you need to work. Never has a more powerful tool been available to allow ordinary people, like you and me, to SUPERCHARGE OUR SUCCESS!
To truly take advantage of this unprecedented opportunity we all have, you must
apply the basic principles above. Get ready to work, there will be many sleeepless nights on the road to success. Use the Internet as a learning tool. Identify the skills you will need to have the success you desire and start learning from the many websites and e-books available. In addition, learn from all of the actions that you do take ... what is working and what is not... what are the differences between what is and is not working. Most of all, keep focused and do not lose faith. Most of the success on the Internet was not done overnight. It takes months, and sometimes years, of determined and intelligent action to accomplish your goals."
6 Tips For Affiliates - Choose Your Merchant Wisely ?
Affiliate marketing has become increasingly popular in recent years. Affiliate
programs offer merchants the opportunity to employ vast armies of sales people who only get paid for the results they achieve.
The rewards for affiliates are high also, and the skilled affiliate marketer can earn many thousands of dollars a month. This win-win situation has led to an explosion in
the number of affiliate programs that are available to the would-be marketer. With
this proliferation of opportunities has come many questions; how do you go about
choosing the right opportunity for you? What qualities should you look for in a program and which gives you a good chance of making a sustainable income? Below are some tips that will help you to evaluate merchants and their programs, and help you to avoid wasting time and money.
1. How Much Commission Does The Merchant Pay?
This may seem obvious, but it is very important that you know how much you can
expect to earn from a sale. There is no point in spending time and money promoting a product that doesn't pay well. You could end up spending more on marketing than you are likely to make on sales. It is probably best to stick with marketing products with a high commission value, unless you have found a niche market where you can sell vast quantities of product, and make substantial commissions on your volume of sales.
2. How Much Traffic is the Merchant's Website Getting?
Try to discover the amount of traffic the merchant's website is already
receiving. Alexa.com could be a useful tool for doing this research. If the website is
ranked in the top 100,000, the merchant is getting a good volume of traffic, and there may already be too many affiliates. If it is ranked below 500,000 it is either no good or it could just be a golden opportunity to make some real money! Always research a merchant's product if their website has a low traffic ranking. It may be a good idea to buy the product yourself if you can afford to. Otherwise you could do a search to find out if there are any adverse comments about it on the internet. If all is well and the product is good, you may havefound a gold mine!
3. How Often Are Commissions Paid?
Some merchants pay commissions every week; some once a month, others only pay every quarter. It is important that you know how often you can expect a pay check if you are going to have financial control over your business. Do you have the financial resources to continue to market a product if you have to wait a long time before you get paid? It would also be wise to find out the minimum commission that you have to earn before you get paid.
4. Does The Company Use Tracking Cookies?
Many customers do not buy on their first visit to a merchant's website. It is
important therefore that the merchant uses cookies on their site, so that you get credit if the customer returns and buys at a later date. Check out how long the cookies last. The longer the cookies lasts; the better the chance of getting paid!
5. Does The Merchant Pay On Subsequent Sales?
Some merchants will only pay commission on sales that come through customers
visiting their site via a direct link from your site. They pay you nothing for any
subsequent purchases that the customer makes if they visit the merchants site directly. It is important that you get paid no matter what route the customer returns by if you are to build a sustainable business.
6. What Promotional Resources Does The Merchant Offer?
Look at the type and quality of the promotional material that they provide. Do
they provide articles or content that you can use to promote them on your site or
free guides, special offers or samples? If the promotional resources are good it is likely that the merchant will provide good support for their affiliates.
Finding the right merchant can be a tricky business. The best advice is to do
your own research. Use the above questions as an aid to finding a merchant that enables you to reach your financial goals. You never know - You could strike gold!
