SPAMMERS

Hello,

:?: I have been getting SPAM on a regular basis. I have banned IP addresses and have several banned users as well. Is there a way to block this spam from coming into my forum?

I get at least one a day and on the weekend I get several. What I also noticed was that I blocked all IP addresses twice from this one SPAMMER and he was back again! How is this possible? The name is serg

You have to bare SPAM
only thing u can do is delete the post immediatly ban them
the ban IP works. I dunno how it doesnt work for u

This SPAM is very frustrating. I keep getting SPAM for the same people and I block all the IP addresses for those posts? Not sure how they get around it and how they have so many IP addresses?
Anyone else have any ideas??

i think if the spammer is using a dial-up connection, some dail-up services provide you with a new IP every time you connect so if he is using a dial up connection, blocking an IP may not help.

Thank you so much for your reply. I had decided a few months back to completely shut down my forum. It was painstaking because of all the work put into the forum. :shock:

The SPAM was so bad that I would spend about an hour or more a day deleting it. It just did not seem worth it any more.
Hope you do not go through this in your forum.
