Need help, cannot connect to FTP!

To anyone who can help me. I am using my college's server to connect to the internet from my apartment/dorm. I have never been able to connect to any sort of ftp sites, how do I fix this problem?

Try using SmatFTP. I use it all the time and it works fine.

it could cause by ur university blocked certain port just to stop students from connecting to ftp
that could be comfirmed by trying to download some small program which is using ftp as file transfer type. the url looks like ftp://
also, try smartftp and select a port other than the common ones like 21.

I am using FlashFXP! It's the easiest & fastest way to connect the FTP!
Try it! It has overwrite/yes to all/no to all/resume all/... and other useful capabilities... 8)
