What is the whole Free posting deal?

Can someone explain the 5 postings rule in a bit more detail to me? I understand that once you make 5 posts you are allowed to use the free hosting. But is there some on-going (weekly/monthly) posting requirements? How long does the hosting last? Will my site disappear someday? What is the whole deal?
